This will be the first community event hosted by C-MY Style Event Planning, LLC as a way to highlight and help promote local businesses/restaurants in the Detroit area. This event is also an opportunity to say “Thank You” to the community in  a show of appreciation for their support as patrons and the continued shopping during these hard economic times. This family event and BBQ cook-off will be an all-day festival featuring local vendors, games and activities for the kids, performances, and the best homemade BBQ that Detroit has to offer!! “This event is for all families and businesses of the area” according to Bel - Air Shopping Center representatives…“We want the families to have fun and offer the community an event that is clean, fun and safe!”

The BBQ Cook-Off will feature local and individually owned entities that are looking to expand their business or those that are looking to get started but may not have the means to establish themselves as business owners or restaurateurs. BBQ Cook-Off participants are being rounded up from all over the city to showcase their skills on the grill and the special sauces that will set their BBQ apart from other fellow participants. Participating individuals/groups of the contest might want to have additional personnel to handle the crowds request for their tasty treats to tickle palettes with the fabulous creations and various styles of BBQ. In addition to the “great” BBQ-Cook Off, local shops/vendors are being asked to participate also, to showcase their unique wears and products for the large crowds coming to enjoy this wonderful community-driven event.
 
Judging will be done by local community activist, neighborhood associations and some very important local celebrities that have a soft spot for Detroit and that love good, down home BBQ. Participants will have the opportunity to win wonderful prize and cash incentives to establish their BBQ business for being the best in the “D” for BBQ.
