Summer 2010 Beauty Trends: Hot Buns
Posted: 7/6/2010

Whats better than a sexy but cute bun on a hot summer day? Take a look at the quick and easy step by step styles!

BALLERINA BUN- A ballerina bun is as simple as it looks. There are two types of ballerina buns (sloppy and firm). With the sloppy ballerina bun, all you need is one rubberband. You can style hair with finger tips as a replacement of a comb. Once hair is in desired shaped, grip hair as if it's going into a ponytail and start to twist hair around index finger without pressure. Once hair is secured to how you want it, place rubberband on a hidden area of bun so it's not able to be seen. Once, the hair is sitting alone, even it out by playing with the bun. Next, is the firm ballerina bun. The firm ballerina bun takes a bit more work but not alot. For the firm ballerina bun you will need 2 rubberbands, a hard bristle brush, and holding spray. First, you spray the bristles of your hair brush with holding spray. Once you sprayed the bristles, brush your hair into ponytail and place the rubberband around the hair. Once the hair is a ponytail, spray two half pumps of holding spray amongst the hanging hair. Wrap the ponytail around in a circle with pressure until it doesn't wrap anymore. Once the hair doesn't wrap place the second rubberband around hair. Once the bun is secured by both rubberbands, insert four bobby pins ( Two at the top of the bun and two at the bottom of the bun). YOUR ALL SET!!!

BRAIDED BUN- A braided bun takes more effort than a ballerina bun. With a braided bun you will need a rat tail comb, four rubberbands, and holding spray. First, make a center part in your hair. Make sure the part doesnt go down to far so the bun can still sit up high. On the left side of the part start to braid a medium sized french braid to the back. Once the braid is half way done, place rubberband on the braid (Make sure that you dont braid the braided hair all the way to the end). Once the left side is done, do the same exact procedure to the right side of the part. Once both braids are in, comb all the hanging hair until it's nice and even. Place hair in a ponytail. Once the hair is in a ponytail wrap the remaining hanging hair around with semi-pressure then place the last rubberband around the hair. YOU'RE DONE!!!!

SIDE BUN- A side bun literally takes all of ten minutes, maybe even less. You will need a comb, hard bristle brush, hair mousse, one rubberband, and two bobby pins. First comb out the area for your deep swoop. The swoop can be either on the left of right side (Some people use both). Once you have the hair out for the swoop, apply a handful of mousse to the hair to keep the swoop in place. Once the swoop has been made, continue to firmly brush hair to the back. Apply pressure and wrap hair around index finger. Once hair is unable to wrap, secure the rubberband in place on hair bun. COOL LOOK!!!
